A book stand is a amazing aid for any real lover of books. Currently offered types vary from straight forward wire creations like the Fold’N'Stow that holds a book at variable angles on just about any flat surface, to the elegantly conceived and executed LEVO Bookholder that retains a book or other reading material in either a floor stand model or a clamp-on model that easily fastens to just about any table, desk, or counter top. Most book stand designs work best with hardcovers, but they also can work quite nicely with paperback books held in book holders such as an OpenPage.
The Fold’N'Stow is one of the most affordable of book stands. It folds compactly for easy storage and transport and comes with it’s own plastic pouch designed for easy placement in a three ring binder. It may be used on a counter top for recipe books, or atop your desk, table, workstation, bench, etc. Wire arms with page holders extend from the back plane to secure your book open, and, by adjusting how far apart the arms are, smaller and larger books are readily accommodated. The back plane has horizontal pieces that can be moved to adjust the angle at which the book is held relative to the surface upon which it is resting.
The most popular model of the LEVO book stand is the LEVO floor standing model, which features a weighted rolling base for ease of movement from chair side to bedside to desk side to beside the kitchen counter top. Even though there are other book stand designs currently available, the LEVO and Fold’N'Stow book stands have withstood the test of time and stand up well to heavy use.
